Private Residence 6

Curaçao | 2012 | Penstraat/The Strand | Interior design: LOT1038

This residence is located at ‘The Strand’ on Curacao. The owners wanted to create the real “beach feeling”. To accomplice this feeling, we used natural materials, like linen and wood. Besides the natural materials, the best way to get a beach feeling is to use natural colours. One of the outcomes of this design is the Matu sofa, from Linteloo. This element sofa is 100 % linen in a beautiful sand colour. The Chivasso curtains in white linen also give the penthouse that special natural feeling. From Piet Hein Eek, the originator and godfather of the scrap wood and recycling furniture, we selected the tables, the canteen demolition wood table and the waste coffee cube table. The tables are in high gloss and have the similar colours. The high gloss laquer is sprayed in 9 layers. Around the “Canteen table” we placed transparent Louis ghost chairs from Kartell. Next to the tables from Piet Hein Eek, we also selected the workshop cupboard in scrapwood, this cabinet is on special request also in high gloss laquer.
